::Here We Go::

When starting this blog I immediately began hearing this small voice in the back of my mind say, "you better do this right, grammatically correct, interesting enough, exciting, funny, and live up to the great writers you just know personally (not even trying touch the writers you love to sit down on the front porch and soak into their storyline, commentary, and/or personal interpretation of scripture)". I will just warn you now - "grammatically correctedness" is not my goal here and if it really bothers you.......I'm sorry! Even so, I LOVE to write and putting my thoughts and ideas on paper and then out there for everyone to read and be challenged, encouraged, and hopefully smile brings me joy! Writing really became one of my first "finding joy" experiences that I found outside of sports in high school and it has only grown since then.

As we journey together (hopefully) in "finding joy" may we be challenged with the next few thoughts:

::Being thankful for the small/insignificant to most can always remind us to not be so self-centered, but recognizing the great things we have been blessed with and showing gratitude through return or giving back in genuine thought and love can change the world.

::Don't be afraid of trying new things or hobbies - you never know when it might unlock new passions and dreams that the Lord has be waiting on the edge of His seat(or throne, I guess?) for you to discover.

::Family is more than blood. They are people who will confront you when your wrong, love you when you're PMS-ing, laugh at all your jokes, hold you when your a wreck, stand with you in prayer, rejoice in your achievements, and push you closer and closer to the Father on High.

::Quiet time to reflect and just wait is crucial.

::When you find joy...SHARE IT - don't just keep it for yourself!

So, Here We Go! Let's Find some Joy.....

  1. Fantastically beautiful blog, DJ. I am very impressed. It's tough to open yourself up like this and be able to express those feelings and thoughts without sounding all Nick Sparks. You've got something good here, keep it up. I look forward to reading more. Thanks for including me and allowing me to read it.
